Nous voilà parti-e-s pour un nouvel work in progress !

Cet article consiste à vous expliquer mon processus de création d'une illustration de mode. Cette fois-ci, Festival de Cannes oblige, j'ai eu un énorme coup de coeur pour la magnifique tenue du mannequin Winnie Harlow, réalisée par Zuhair Murad Couture. Je trouve que cette femme est magnifique, et sa peau est réellement un régal pour les illustrateurs !

Here we go for a new work in progress !

This article consists in explaining you my creative process for a fashion illustration. This time, Festival de Cannes oblige, I had a crush for the amazing outfit of the model Winnie Harlow, created by Zuhair Murad Couture. I think that woman is gorgeous, and her skin is really a treat for illustrators !

Here are the different illustration steps, don’t hesitate to leave a comment if you have observations/questions !

First step : quick sketch with wood pencil

quick outline of the outfit and the body

More attention for details, still with wood pencil

I repeat the process with an extra light marker

Then, I start the body, its colour and the hair’s with a taste for the face’s features and crazy curls

I go on with the outfit, here an electric blue bustier dress

I did it with watercolours whereas the rest is made with markers

I finally add the shadows and light to bring more depth/intensity and life to the outfit

For this illustration, I saturated colours via Photoshop

Première étape : le crayonné rapide au crayon de bois

Esquisse rapide du vêtement et du corps

Plus d'attention aux détails, toujours au crayon de bois

Je reprends le tout au marqueur extra fin

Je m'attaque ensuite au corps, sa couleur et celle des cheveux avec un goût pour les traits du visage et les mèches folles

Je passe au vêtement, ici une robe bustier d'un bleu électrique.
Je l'ai réalisé à l'aquarelle, alors que le reste est fait aux marqueurs.

J'ajoute enfin les ombres et les traits de lumière, pour apporter plus de profondeur et de vie au vêtement

Pour cette illustration, j'ai ensuite saturé les couleurs via le logiciel Photofiltre

Et voilà la photo qui m'a servi de modèle
